Top 5

In my quest to become more organized, and ultimately more productive,  I am now setting goals for which I am looking to achieve within the upcoming months. I am listing them here in hopes of being held accountable to them as I am now going public with some of my loftiest ideas! I’ve always heard that the first step to recovery is to confess what needs to happen so I have decided to list my Top 5 goals.

Here goes…

1. Show my WIFE she is my 1st Priority (second only to relationship with Christ).

For far too long, I have let other things get in the way of me being the Husband my Wife deserves. This stops TODAY! And I’m proud of myself for acknowledging the need for setting this goal because I’m not operating off the emotion of a bad disagreement, her saying anything to me, or even Valentine’s Day which is still 2 more days away. Nope, this is just me desiring to become a better Husband for the woman my SAVIOR has given to me. So each and every week I am now going to surprise her with at least one date night during the week. And to keep her on her toes, I’m even planning on changing the day we go out every single week. She won’t know until the Sunday night to start each upcoming week!

2. Read at least 1 Book per week

Yes, I am always looking to learn in order that God might stretch me and mold me into a more productive leader in all facets of my life. Right now, I am currently reading two books in hopes in finishing one of them by this Friday (where I will begin doing a weekly BOOK REVIEW every single Friday to incorporate some accountability to this highly achievable goal).

3. Organize my Yearly Calendar to extend at least one year out.

This will include both my personal life and my professional life. Like I just said, I am looking to become more productive in all facets of my life which is rather difficult to do if you don’t even know when are supposed to show up for things. So from here on out, I will NOT be caught off guard. And better yet, if its not planned at least 1 month out then I’m not letting myself go through with it. Yes, emergencies come up. But this will actually help me handle these situations even better because I will already know what needs to be rescheduled before an emergency happens to strike.

4. Surround myself with Godly Leaders who look to experience a movement of God.

Simply put, I want to the see the Name of Jesus made famous around the world! But in order to accomplish this mission, it has to first start in the community I’m currently living. Yes, I believe there is something to what Jesus described as “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the outer most ends of the earth.” I want to see a movement of God’s Spirit begin to swirl from within Oconee County and eventually reach out to encompass the rest of the world. I believe God is preparing me to be a part of a movement of His Spirit like this and I want to continually place myself in the company of other leaders and believers who desire to see this experience happen. So if you are a leader of a current church or ministry movement please know that I am already praying for our paths to cross in order that I might learn from you! And if you are believer in the Oconee County area looking to be a part of this movement of God’s Spirit then please know that I am also desiring for our paths to cross in order that God might use us to reach this community. 5. Drop 30 pounds within the next 6 months.

Enough said…   No really. God has convicted my heart that it is now time to become serious about taking care of the body He has given me. If His Spirit really is to move in the way I am praying He will, then I know that I want to be a part of it as long as I possibly can. Therefore, the weight has to come off, the heart has to keep pumping, and the body has to become healthy. So 30 pounds is where it starts. If my math is correct (which it usually isn’t but either way) then this should result in 5 lbs. a month which basically translates into a little over 1 pound a week. To me this certainly IS doable and absolutely HAS to be done! If you too are looking for a way to become more healthy, make sure to check back later to get an idea of how I plan to accomplish this goal…

So here are my top 5 goals for the upcoming months. Maybe they can inspire you to achieve some of your own!
