If you are someone like me, who is always looking for a way to improve your communication, then this is book is a MUST read regardless of whether you are speaking to teenagers or not!
In fact, I will say that this book is one EVERY communicator needs to read especially you are NOT speaking to teenagers because if you can learn from this book to communicate with teenagers then I promise you that you can eventually communicate with ANYONE!
Why you may ask?
Well because teenagers are the hardest group of people to communicate with simply for the fact that their generation can see through anything and everything you put in front of them. And if it’s not REAL then they will be the first to point it out and turn it off.
That is why this book has been such a huge resource for me and why I am determined to read it at least once a year just to stay up on my communication skills.
Doug & Duffy are two of Youth Ministry’s master guru’s. With close to 60 years combined ministry experience, both of these guys have been in it long enough to learn how to effectively communicate with teenagers. I don’t know that there are any other two men in Youth Ministry who do it any better only because these two have been it the longest. And who better to learn from the those who are already being successful in the same area you are looking to be used.
When it comes to speaking to teenagers in a life changing way, these guys know how to get it done!
What I love about this book is the way these two guys have set it up so that your communication style, skills, and success aren’t based on just one way of doing things or even one personality to see life change take place. Rather it is more of way to take your style, skills, personality and use what God has already give you to become more successful in making connections in lives of people.
Because as this book proclaims over and over, “If you’re not connecting, then you’re not communicating. And if you’re not communicating, then you’re not changing.”
And I believe all of us want to be a catalyst for change, which is exactly why we believe God has called us to do what we do. Now for all you ministers, teachers, and communicators out there - Get a copy of this book, Start digesting it, and let it change you so that God can use you as a catalyst for change in the life other people.
