Finally In (Again)

WordPress has been giving me fits today. Somehow, my password was reset so I haven’t been able to access my site until now. And having fought with this thing all day, my mind is now too frustrated to post anything productive.

So, I will just leave it at that for today and see if maybe we will have better luck next time. As for today, hope everyone has good one (or at least what’s rest of it, anyway)!

Love my readers. Thanks for remaining faithful and thanks for always checking in on us.

Looking For Love

And love when I’m looking! For houses that is…

Yep, today is that day. Teresa and I have started looking for an old house to call our new home.

Of course, we’ll take a new house too. But with our fortune being made in the financially secure world of church planting where the rich enter only to become richer, we really are looking for something only a poor old widow could afford to buy.

So, we will see where this venture happens to lead us. At the very least, it should be a very interesting journey. There is no telling what type of places we will be walking into in the next couple of months.

And where are we looking to move you might ask?

The answer to that question is worth the price of admission. Surely, you wouldn’t think I’d give you the answer to all your questions right up front now would you! The tease is the only thing I have to keep you coming back.

Crap. I’m already acting like a Pastor, “Now I PROMISE you DON’T want to miss NEXT week!”

So, check back next week. Or maybe in a few days, and we’ll give you a full update on the Porter house…

Yes. The REAL STORY. Regardless of what you may have previously heard going around the rumor mill!

Twitter or Blog

The answer is BOTH.

While both forms of public communication certainly have their respected benefits and liabilities, I believe that I will continue to take advantage of both technological transmissions now changing the communication landscape.

So here’s what I’m discovering from both…

Twitter is forcing me to be more concise, which is something I have been trying implement into my blogging practice for quite sometime.

However, there are still some topics I will wish to discuss which, for whatever reason, will require a more developed thought process. Therefore, generating the need for continuing this blog. Not to mention how much I still love carrying on this crazy practice of sharing my thoughts.

But because of the new advances in my communication, primarily facilitated through Twitter, you will begin to see some much needed changes coming to this blog; shorter blog posts for example…

only to point out the most immediately obvious adaptation.

So there you have it.

I love this age in which we are currently living. What other generation would be able to experience the public transformation of a preacher via technological communication advances…

Now, lets just continue to take advantage of the ways God is providing for us to continue advancing His life changing message!

Just Another Reason…

I love Gary Lamb!

And this is just another reason God is blessing Revolution Church.

You have to check out Gary’s latest post! It is so motivating and so convicting all at the same time. Let me just say, he absolutely NAILS IT!!!

Just imagine what would happened if every Pastor (foot, every Believer!) took the same approach Gary and his incredible staff are taking to reach Canton for Jesus. I believe we could actually reach the WORLD. But instead all too many of us settle into our day to day lives, and we never really reach our own full potential, let alone the potential of God’s living church.

So to learn one more principle from Gary’s sold out life, what step do you need to make in order to do WHATEVER it takes to reach those so close to you, but so far from God…

What’s Your Motivation

I love this quote by legendary football coach, Lou Holtz…

“Motivation is simple. You eliminate those who are not motivated.”

I would say that pretty much sums it up! Think about it. One of the most consistent frustrations that we as leaders will face is the constant headache of motivating others. But here the process appears to be relatively simple, you just eliminate those who are not motivated.

And what I’ve learned in my years of leadership is that more times than not, those who are not motivated will usually eliminate themselves. Now you as the leader may be the one to finally show them the light (or even the door), but usually by this point the individual already has one foot out the door anyway.

So it is really more of a matter of whether or not you will be leader enough to let them walk before they take too many with them…

And I promise you will be AMAZED at HOW MOTIVATED those who are still with you will actually become as a DIRECT RESULT of NOT letting those who are poorly self motivated people interact with your team anymore!
