That’s right! Its moving week ONCE AGAIN here at the Porter-house. When we first moved to Shelby back in August, we had NO IDEA how God would bless us with the pregnancy of our first child.

So it is time for us to move again, out of our apartment and into a house, with plenty of room for our family to grow…

Needless to say, blogging may take a much needed backseat for the rest of the week. With plenty of painting and remodeling to finish, my “extra time” will be spent on the house. Thank you for understanding and for always praying for us. It is because of your prayers that we have made it this far.

I guess I’ve just always been a glutton for punishment, but it seems like everytime there is a BIG EVENT going in my life that there are also many more things happening as well. To put it simply, we are busy. And yes, we are crazy…

Here are the TOP 5 Reasons we are CRAZY because of all we have going on right now:

1. We are HAVING A BABY!!! Pretty BIG EVENT in somebody’s life. Especially when its the 1st one.

2. We are MOVING!!! Not out of town, but out of our appartment and into a house because we obviously need more space. The house is very nice but still very old, so we are painting, cleaning, and decorating every chance we get because we are scheduled to move in February 1st, ONE WEEK before…

3. We are LAUNCHING a NEW CHURCH!!! Huge, you say. YES. ITS HUGE. If you have ever planted a church, been a part of a church plant, or know anyone who has planted a church then you know the overwhelming amount of work that it takes to pull it off.

4. We are in 2 seperate places STATES!!! Not by choice, but by circumstance. When we found out Teresa was pregnant we made the decision for her to go back to work in SC at her old office simply because of the relationship she shares with her doctors and knowing the way they will take care of her as the baby draws closer. So we are doing the “long distance relationship” deal seeing each other on the weekends and Wednesday nights. Did I mention that is over 90 miles away…

5. We are working 2 jobs!!! Or at least I am. With Teresa away during the week nights and the baby on the way, we decided it would be a good opportunity to earn some extra money and meet people in the community pulling a few hours at local favorite restuarant. Better than me just sitting around the house all by myself when I could be out meeting new people, casting our vision, and earning extra income…

So yes, we are CRAZY. But we absolutely love the life that God has given us. We are more happy now and more fulfilled now than we have ever been because we are relying on each other and obeying the Lord in whatever it is He asks us to do. Honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way (other than spending more nights together). 

We thank you for praying for us! We covet your prayers. We know we are serving the Lord. And we are more excited about LIVING LIFE than we have ever been before!!! God is moving and He is blessing. Maybe one day things will slow down, but from what I’ve heard, it usually doesn’t which really is fine by me. I’ve learned to enjoy it and come to embrace it. This is what life is all about…

Regardless of whether you are Democrat or Republican, we are all Americans!

And today is an extraordinary day in the life of our country as we Inaugurate our new President, Barack Obama.

Scripture tells us to pray for the leaders God places over us. And today is a day where we should all put our political biases aside to honor the man being sworn into office.

May we rally around him as our new President and pray for the decisions he will be making during the next 4 years as he takes on the monumental task of leading the greatest nation in the world…
